WHO IS RYCHE RYCH?
Ryche Rych born Richard R. Howard is truly a “Jack of All Trades.” As a photographer, videographer, model, actor, and athlete he has been blessed to manage a portfolio of talents that have propelled his career. His creative passions were sparked and nurtured at a young age where he was able to learn from and perform with some of his favorite celebrities. He has starred in several different talent shows and had the opportunity to meet and dance alongside Raven Symone on stage in front of thousands of people at the Para-Olympics in 1996. To date he has acted in over a dozen plays.
Ryche’s interest in photography began in 1999 when he started working at his dad’s photography studio and store. Here, he learned to work with a diverse range of clients and equipment and soon after learned how to use a video camera. He started filming weddings, family reunions, worked part-time printing film for the (family owned) one-hour photo shop and helped to increase camera sales. Learning to mix chemicals in the dark room to develop photos helped fine-tune and increase his skill catalog. He became one of the head videographers for Stephenson High School and taught others the fundamentals of the trade. After graduating from Stephenson in 2002, he went off to Savannah State University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. During that time he had the privilege and honor of joining Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
In the summer of 2012, Ryche had the opportunity to teach underprivileged children photography in Jamaica. The following week, he won Best Photographer of the Year in the Atlanta Underground Music Awards.
Ryche’s work has garnered the attention of families, corporate businesses, social and art based associations. His talent has earned him the opportunity to shoot events such as the Soul Train Music Awards, the Gospel Music Awards, and Movie Premieres. He has had many well-known people in front of his lense, which include: Akon, Steve Harvey, Rodney Perry, Jesse Jackson, and many more. While this premiere Atlanta-based photographer works to consistently increase his celebrity roster, Ryche continues to humble himself, passing along his positive spirit and energy to everyone that he meets.
